Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a Non-Chinese citizen, physically healthy, and without a criminal record.
  • Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China and Zhengzhou University.
  • Demonstrate a good learning attitude, solid academic foundation, and intellectual potential to become a highly specialized researcher or expert.
  • Not be a registered PhD student in a Chinese university at the time of application.
  • Have an excellent academic record in a master’s program or higher degree (for Pakistan applicants, should be an 18 years master’s) and be aged less than 40 years old.
  • Show IELTS results of 6.5 or higher if they are from non-English speaking countries.

How To Apply:

  1. Prepare all required application documents as listed below.
  2. Log in to the “ZZU Online Application System for International Students” to submit your online application.
  3. Zhengzhou University will assess all application documents and announce the result of the scholarship application online 4-6 weeks after the submission deadline.

Required Documents:

  • CV and Passport (valid for at least one more year)
  • Signed highest diploma (photocopy)
  • Original or notarized copies of degree certificates and complete transcripts
  • Statement of research interest and research proposal
  • Two recommendation letters from professors
  • Official score report of HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, or other language proficiency tests
  • Physical examination record (Foreigner Physical Examination Form)
  • Original or notarized copies of no criminal certificate
  • Other documents, such as a list of publications, academic awards, and professional qualifications
