The University of Saskatchewan is offering a graduate opportunity in the Department of Nutrition at The Cochrane Laboratory. This project focuses on investigating the impact of feeding HIV-infected breast milk to babies, aiming to provide alternatives to donated breast milk to give babies the benefits of breast milk without the risk of passing on HIV.

Project Description:

The project involves inviting pregnant individuals living with HIV and caregivers of HIV-exposed infants to participate in focus groups or semi-structured private interviews to understand their perspectives on providing donated breast milk to their babies.

Value & Duration of Award:

The selected candidate will receive a stipend and is expected to apply for internal and external scholarships.

Eligibility:

To be considered for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Cumulative weighted average of at least 80% from your undergraduate degree
  • Knowledge related to HIV/AIDS, infant nutrition, and donor human milk, with experience working with Indigenous communities
  • Qualitative research experience is an asset, including conducting focus groups, private interviews, and thematic analysis
  • Strong organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills
