Apply For 2024 University of Geneva Excellence Fellowships, Switzerland

The University of Geneva offers Excellence Fellowships to support outstanding and highly motivated candidates pursuing a Master of Science in various scientific disciplines covered by the Faculty of Science. These fellowships aim to foster academic and professional development, opening doors to careers in academia, industry, teaching, administration, communication, and media.

  • Type: Masters

Value & Duration of Award:

  • The Excellence Fellowship consists of a grant ranging from CHF 10,000 to CHF 15,000 per year.
  • The fellowship is awarded for one year and can be extended for the regular duration of the chosen Master’s program (three or four semesters) provided the applicant maintains academic success.

Eligible Field of Study:

Various scientific disciplines including Astrophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Physics, and others. Please refer to the list of Master programs offered by the Faculty of Science.

Eligible Countries: International Students

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic performance, ranking within the top 10% of their bachelor’s program.
  • Candidates should have completed their Bachelor’s degree or expect to complete it within 6 months.
  • Selection is based on excellence, and evaluation is made based on the documentation provided by the applicants.
  • Proficiency in French is not a formal requirement for the Masters of the Faculty of Science.

Interested candidates should follow the steps outlined below:

  2. Submit the following documents in a SINGLE pdf file:
    • Scan of your national identity card or passport.
    • Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages).
    • Transcript of exams passed during the bachelor’s education, including all grades.
    • Motivation letter describing your scientific interests and motivation to pursue a Master of Science program at the University of Geneva.
    • If available, Letters of references from two professors (preferably sent directly by them to Excellence-Master-Sciences@unige.ch) attesting to your aptitude for the program.
    • Any other relevant information such as GRE results, TOEFL scores, or language proficiency tests.
