Apply For 2024 EduCanada Scholarship Program, Canada

The EduCanada Scholarship Program offers an excellent opportunity for students from eligible countries/territories to pursue short-term exchange opportunities for undergraduate and graduate study or research at Canadian institutions. Sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), this scholarship provides funding of CAD 10,200 to CAD 12,700 to cover tuition and living expenses.

Program Details:

  • Type: Undergraduate, Masters, PhD
  • Application Deadline: March 19, 2024

Value & Duration of Award:

  • CAD 10,200 for college, undergraduate, or graduate students (Master’s and PhD) for a minimum of four months or one academic term of study or research.
  • CAD 12,700 for graduate students (Master’s and PhD) for a period of five to six months of study or research.
  • Additionally, Canadian host institutions will receive CAD 500 per scholarship recipient to assist with administrative costs upon the recipient’s arrival in Canada.

Eligible Expenses:

Scholarship funds cover various expenses, including visa fees, airfare, health insurance, living expenses, transportation, and academic supplies.

Eligible Countries:

Students from select countries/territories in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students at a post-secondary institution in an eligible country/territory and be paying tuition fees for the duration of the exchange. Certain criteria disqualify applicants, such as holding Canadian citizenship or permanent residency and already participating in a Government of Canada-funded scholarship program.

Selection Criteria:

Applications will be evaluated based on the merit of the proposed research or study, benefits to the home institution and Canadian institution, strength of linkages created through the exchange, and rankings submitted by the Canadian institution.

How to Apply:

  • Interested candidates should express their interest to their home institution and inquire about application procedures.
  • Home institutions will submit applications on behalf of candidates through the online application system.
  • Canadian institutions must register an account, complete an online application for each candidate, upload required documents, and submit the application before the deadline.
