The African Graduate Fellowship is a prestigious program for highly motivated African students seeking a master’s degree at The American University in Cairo (AUC). Fellowships are awarded annually to nationals of African countries (excluding Egyptians) for full-time study in any of the graduate programs offered at AUC.

Value & Duration of Award:

• The fellowship covers tuition fees for a maximum of nine credits per semester.
• It includes a stipend, student services and activities fees, medical service and health insurance fees.
• Fellows may receive a monthly housing allowance or accommodation in University residences at the AUC New Cairo campus.
• The duration is for a maximum of five semesters and one intervening summer session, extendable to seven semesters for Counseling Psychology graduate program, subject to review each semester for satisfactory academic performance.

Eligible Countries: African Countries (Except Egypt)

Eligibility:

• Non-Egyptian African nationals are eligible.
• Applicants with dual non-African nationality are not eligible.
• Open to all disciplines of graduate studies.
• New graduate degree-seeking students must fulfill AUC graduate admissions requirements.
• Submission of International TOEFL iBT exam score or academic IELTS exam score as per the cut-off scores for AUC graduate admissions.
• Continuing students must maintain a GPA of 3.2 to retain the fellowship.

Responsibility of Fellows:

• Assigned 12 hours per week of related academic work.
• Maintain full-time status and a minimum GPA of 3.2.
• Completion of mandatory training if involved in teaching assistantship duties.
