About the role.

The Software Developer role is responsible for developing new and maintaining existing software meeting organisational needs. This role sits within the Analytic and Intelligent Technology team who provides corporate data science capabilities, and analytic and geospatial platforms.

Key Responsibilities.

• Plan and develop code in a maintainable and sustainable manner in accordance with organisational standards and industry best practice while maintaining the security of systems
• Work in a diverse team environment that shares outcomes and experience with others to support development and growth

Skills and experience.

• Ability to develop code in one or more programming languages. (e.g. C#, Java, Golang, FastAPI, RUST, React, Python)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to write comprehensive software documentation.
• Knowledge and experience with software development practices.
• Source Control (GitLab, BitBucket)
• Must hold an active NV1 Security Clearance or higher

Desirable skills.

• Containerised or cloud native applications
• Configuration-as-code workflows and deployment mechanisms
• Networking, virtualisation, OS, and server management
• Information, network, and application security
• Knowledge of and experience in Mongo, Rancher, Kafka, Druid
