The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is offering a career opportunity within the Early Childhood and Family Support Division for a MAPP-Net Program Specialist. This position is in the Children’s Special Health Services (CSHS) Section and is responsible for overseeing the Montana Access to Pediatric Psychiatry Network (MAPP-Net). The role focuses on telehealth for pediatric patients in need of mental health consultation and leads all aspects of the MAPP-Net statewide project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and administer statewide public health programs.
  • Develop evidence-based public health policies and interventions.
  • Develop and implement health surveillance and data collection systems.
  • Coordinate program strategic planning and facilitate stakeholder groups.
  • Plan and coordinate program outreach, training, and support.
  • Diagnose production issues and provide support.
  • Collect client requirements and define specifications.
  • Conduct research and implement public health interventions.
  • Create and present trainings.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other program-related communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social work, public health, health education, early childhood development/education, or other behavioral or social science-related field.
  • Master’s degree in social work, public health, or other behavioral or social science-related field preferred.
  • Two years of job-related public health or health administration experience, including contract and program management.
  • Experience evaluating, developing, and writing grant responses preferred.

Additional Information:

  • This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana.
  • A statutory $1.50 per hour base pay increase is expected, effective July 1, 2024.
